This past Monday, Jeff R and I had the honor of attending the Big Brothers Big Sisters Sidewalks of NY Award ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom. Walking around this swanky building alone made the evening grand. Before dinner, guest were treated with cocktails and appetizers while mingling. I meet some wonderful Bigs who have been in the program for years and loved every minute of it.
CNN's Soledad O'Brien did a wonderful job hosting the event and sharing her passion for the organization. Verizon(Coporate Award), Tina Lundgren(Community Service Award), and Victor Cruz(Sports Award) were honored with awards based on their charitable works through the years. The presentations by the three pairs of Bigs & Littles were remarkable, funny, and touching.
It was such a pleasure just to be part of this spectacular celebration.
