The New York Mets played the St. Louis Cardinals in a double header. We caught the tail end of the first game and cheered on the Mets through the second. The diehard fans among us predicted the plays and discussed stats. The rest of us ate French fries and shouted “Charge!” at the appropriate moments. Regardless of our baseball knowledge, we all had a great time rooting for the home team and catching up with our coworkers.
The stadium really got loud as we approached the end of the game. The Cardinals were down by two and left with two outs and two strikes on the board. The pressure was on for the Mets’ pitcher to deliver that final strike. He sent a fastball right down the middle and the crowd leapt to its feet to celebrate. For some Lawliners, it was the first time they had ever been present for a Mets victory!
I may not be the most avid sports fan, but I always enjoy going to games with the Lawline crew. My colleagues’ excitement is contagious, and it’s a great opportunity to learn about their passions and hobbies. Events like these help us get to know each other outside of work and strengthen us as a team. I think that we would all agree that the company that has fun together, gets things done together.
