What Lawline Thinks of the Melo Trade

The news of the morning was all Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks. Being located in NYC, plenty of Lawline employees are Knicks fans, or at the very least, basketball fans. I decided to get some opinions on the blockbuster trade that ruined the dreams of any New Jersey Nets fans out there (could not find any here at Lawline, maybe they have turned to the Knicks!).

Jessica (sales) - It is kind of hard to say. I think a lot of people wanted him here to get a big name to become part of the Knicks. But only time will tell to see if it was a good trade or not. I'm just happy they did not trade Landry Fields.

Rob (sales) - I like it. I think Danilo Gallinari is going to be injury plagued throughout his career. Plus I like Billups bringing some veteran experience to the team.

David (president) - ha

Chris (CS) - I like it.

Marcus (Celtics Fan) - I think they gave up a lot for him, but the NBA is a league of superstars. They just got a top 15 player and a top 7 point guard for a bunch of solid rotation players, but they still can not beat the Heat, Celtics, or Bulls.

Kyle (program attorney) - I think it is awesome. They are going to be a force now. Yes, we gave away a lot, but now it is a much better team. Billups is old, but still very good.

Hillary (Nuggets Fan) - It is the only place he wanted to go. He is going to do great especially with Amar'e Stoudemire and Billups. I was sad to see him go (Nuggets 4 Life). I secretly think LaLa forced him to come to New York because she works here.

Michael (accreditation) - I love it. He was not happy with the Nuggets and the Knicks can really use him.

Joey (only Nets Fan) - If they share the ball, definitely a perennial playoff team. It is a better deal for the Knicks. And the Nets have 5 first round picks in the next two or three years so its a different way to build their core.

Jonathan (sales) - I think it is great for New York. I hope I can see a game in the future. I've never actually been to a basketball game.

So there you have it. Most of us love it. I do as well. That team was not going very far, and it is definitely an upgrade. Let us know what you think!
