Honoring Those Who Served: Cali Brings Cheer to Veterans
On the eve of Veterans Day, Cali Franks, Learning Solutions Attorney, spent time giving back in a powerful and heartfelt way by bringing joy, recognition, and gratitude to veterans receiving care. The experience served as a moving reminder of the importance of honoring those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
As a proud member of the USA Cheerleaders, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting military personnel and first responders across the nation, she joined her teammates in leading a spirited parade through the hospital corridors. The group stopped in patient rooms to share high fives and heartfelt thank-yous before culminating in a moving Veterans Day ceremony in the main building. Patients, families, and hospital staff came together to celebrate.
The ceremony highlighted the incredible work of the VA Hospital while honoring the profound sacrifices made by these brave men and women. Watching faces light up, some with surprise and others with nostalgia, served as a powerful reminder of why this work matters so deeply.
For a few precious hours, she had the privilege of bringing joy and cheer to those who gave so much for our freedom. While it was a small gesture compared to their monumental service, the smiles, stories, and gratitude shared that day will remain close to her heart for years to come.
