# What Arika's Claude Workshop Taught Us About Working Smarter

On October 1st, Arika Dallas, Marketing Specialist, hosted our very first Claude Cowork Workshop! Employees showed up ready to learn and in return they got was a live, real-time demonstration of what Claude can do using the tools we use every single day.

Two real workflows. Two real problems.

Arika did not make up examples. She took real submissions from our team and solved them live on camera. Within minutes, Arika had Claude pulling information automatically and scheduling the whole process to run every Monday on its own.

For the second example, Arikak showed Claude cross-referencing spreadsheets, reading the Trello cards, searching through her own Gmail. She taught us that we stay in control, Claude does the legwork.

The guardrails matter as much as the task

One of the most important things Arika shared is something a lot of people overlook: how you set the rules in your prompt is just as important as what you ask Claude to do. Her prompts always started with clear boundaries. Never send an email. Never edit anything in admin. Only read. That is not overcaution. That is being smart about a tool that is genuinely capable of a lot.

What this means for you

Arika describes herself as average with technology. What she has is curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and the habit of talking to Claude like she would talk to a person.
