A Look Into Parental Leave Support Through Beth’s Eyes
Last week was Beth’s first day back at Lawline after welcoming a new addition to her family! We’re proud to support employees with 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, along with a flexible re-onboarding experience that allows employees to return to work on a temporary part-time schedule.
We caught up with Beth to reflect on her journey before, during, and after her leave. Here’s what she shared:
“I appreciated that leading up to the leave, I felt comfortable that I was going to be able to unplug and focus on my family. Everything was handled while I was away because my team set up coverage before I left, and I didn’t need to worry. I liked having check-ins with Miylie and Gabby during my leave, and I appreciated still having access to my email and Slack if I wanted to peek. Some of my friends had their access revoked during leave, so that stood out. Additionally, coming back part-time has been great! You don’t always know what you’ll need when you return to work, so easing back in gives me space to figure that out.”
“At the beginning of my leave, a lot of unexpected things came up. I appreciated being able to be open and discuss what was happening in real time. Everyone was flexible and accommodating. Even when I was planning my return, I was able to reconnect a month in advance to start mentally preparing, which helped so much. It was during that conversation that I said, ‘Lawline takes such good care of us.’”
