In early summer, David Schnurman and Kyle Robinson decided to sign up for the Philadelphia marathon. It was Kyle’s second such race and Dave’s first.
First, let’s put into perspective what it means to complete a marathon. Running a marathon means planning months in advance. It means creating a schedule and sticking to it, even when you are tired, fatigued, and worn out. It involves months of pushing yourself to the limit: running further today than yesterday, waking up before the crack of dawn to get a run in, and fitting in workouts while balancing the rest of life and managing to keep your energy high when training is absorbing so much of it. And then, of course, there is showing up race day and pounding through 26.2 miles.
Throughout the process, Dave and Kyle not only performed all of these above, but also led through pushing us as a company day in and day out. They never let the schedule deter them from their goals at Lawline - quite the contrary: their routine and structure carried into structure within the company.
